It’s back to the book learnin’ for the Upper Cumberland, and we wish you all much success in your endeavors in and outside of the classroom in this new school year. Our Facebook group is a positive, uplifting resource where you can get recommendations from locals on things that matter. You can find recommendations from others in the community on things like car repairs, hair stylists, local restaurants, and what’s happening in town.

Blazin’ Phoenix at The Putnam County Fair
Blazin’ Phoenix will be the last band to ever play at the Putnam County Fair at it’s current location, as the fair will be moving to a new location next year after more than six decades at the current location. The show will be performed on the Wilson County Bank Stage on Saturday, Aug. 7 starting at 7 p.m. (weather permitting). Take a few moments to sit and listen to some of your favorite classic rock and country tunes. Free admission.
The Smoky Nights LIVE at 37 Cedar
The Smoky Nights are back with their FULL BAND performing at 37 Cedar Restaurant and Bar this Friday, August 6 beginning at 9 p.m. The Smoky Nights are hometown favorites with big time sounds! With their wide variety of musical instruments, to the endless amounts of covers and originals that vary from genre to genre, The Smoky Nights are surely one-of-a-kind.
‘Stories of Cookeville Music’ Exhibit
When it comes to musical legends, Cookeville has a storied history. Some of the featured artists include Jake Hoot, The Cluster Pluckers, Frazier Moss, Judah and the Lion, Tennessee Tech University’s Bryan Symphony Orchestra and Cookeville Community Band. View an assortment of music memorabilia, photos and keepsakes loaned to the Cookeville History Museum by area musicians, bands, and artists at the ‘Stories of Cookeville Music’ Exhibit being held from July 17 to Sept. 18 at the Cookeville History Museum. Free admission. The Cookeville History Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Amanda Jo LIVE at Red Silo Brewing Company
Amanda Jo is performing live at Red Silo Brewing Company on Saturday, Aug. 7 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. It’s often said that the apple doesn’t fall from the tree. Well, for Amanda Jo, it landed right next to the trunk. Having grown up around some of Nashville’s top country music entertainers, musicians, and songwriters thanks to her late father hit songwriter and producer Kenny Beard, Amanda Jo was bit by the incurable music bug at a very young age.While Amanda Jo’s sound has strong country music influences, she also enjoys singing current and past pop hits, alternative, southern gospel, and contemporary Christian.

The Sounds of Silo
The “Sounds of Silo” will be held on at Red Silo Brewing Company on Sunday, Aug. 8 beginning shortly after opening at 1 p.m. Enjoy music and cold Red Silo beer.
