The Fair Is In The Air

Bring someone special to stroll through the midway and enjoy a night under the bright lights of the 95th Putnam County Fair. The Putnam County Fair will have booths, vendors, games, rides, events, and festivities beginning on Thursday, July 29. Be sure to drop by Hip C’s booth at the fair this year and introduce yourself! Ask us about ways you can stay hip on current events and/or support our community. We will be giving out free refreshments at our booth. Join us for a free lemonade or snack on some free popcorn. The fair is in the air, my friend. We can almost smell those incredible funnel cakes now…

Coming This Week!

‘Stories of Cookeville Music’ Exhibit

When it comes to musical legends, Cookeville has a storied history. Some of the featured artists include Jake Hoot, The Cluster Pluckers, Frazier Moss, Judah and the Lion, Tennessee Tech University’s Bryan Symphony Orchestra and Cookeville Community Band. View an assortment of music memorabilia, photos and keepsakes loaned to the Cookeville History Museum by area musicians, bands, and artists at the ‘Stories of Cookeville Music’ Exhibit being held from July 17 to Sept. 18 at the Cookeville History Museum. Free admission. The Cookeville History Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Packs for Pints: Red Silo

You’re invited to the 4th annual Packs For Pints at Red Silo Brewing Company on Wednesday, July 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. All backpack or school supplies donors receive a free drink on the house on this day. This “happy hour” style event helps Upper Cumberland children living in foster care through school supply donations. Last year, 290 backpacks were filed and donated, let’s see if we can beat that number this year! Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and family. This event is sponsored by The Biz Foundry, Red Silo Brewing Company, and the UC Young Lawyer Association.

Back To School Is Just Around The Corner!

The Putnam County School System has scheduled their first full day of school to begin on Tuesday, Aug. 3, but don’t forget registration day which falls on Friday, July 30. Students are dismissed on registration day at 10 a.m.
